Schedule of Resources?

Post by gregswife03 » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:18 pm

Hi,
I'm gearing up to purchase the resources for MTMM for this school year. I'd love to know if there is a chart online somewhere that tells me what resources are used in what weeks? If I don't need to buy, say, All American History right now, but could wait a couple of months, that would be great to know.
Thanks!
Katie

I think the best place to start would be contacting HOD directly. They will be able to tell you what books you need first and when. I know that if you are interested, they might also be able to help set up a payment plan to help you get what you need when you need it.

Hope that helps.

We are trying to stay on top of the all of the phone calls, but any answers that can be found here would be faster (and appreciated by us :D ) in this very busy season. :D In general, we'd rather see you order all the books you need at once and do a payment plan than order things in pieces. The reasons for this are that you will have everything you need to have a successful year with HOD, you will be able to look over all of the materials and better envision/plan for your entire year with HOD, you will be able to save money by taking advantage of package savings (i.e. by ordering the MTMM economy package alone you save $55 to $67, depending on whether you order the President's Study or not), and you will be able to save money by receiving free shipping when you order all you need, as opposed to paying multiple shipping charges for multiple orders shipped separately. If you still want to order things a portion at a time, you can begin by purchasing the MTMM guide, and go through each of the day's plans to jot down the resources you need for 'x' amount of time, which is pretty time consuming, but it is what someone would be trying to do here too. At least if you had the guide, you could determine 'how far' you want to go into the year and which resources you need specifically for your personal choices (i.e. President's study or not, math choice, grammar choice, basic package or extensions, etc.). HTH! :D

Katie,
We are in the middle of MMtM right now and I would strongly advise you to purchase the entire Economy Pkg (as we've used all of those books but two within the first 14 weeks of MMTM).

The Economy Pkg (Science) will be a little easier to hodgepodge but your best DEAL would be to buy the set all at once. You must have Exploring the World of Chemistry, Marie Curie, Chemistry Experiment Kit, and the Elements to get you through the first 13 weeks (The Elements starts around week 10, I think).

In terms of the Basic Package (again, your best DEAL is to buy them all at once) but the books are listed in order and are read aloud one at a time. The first books to be read are: Under the Hawthorne Tree, God's Adventurer, Factory Girl, and Mama's Bank Acct. That will get you through the first 2 months of plans.
Currently:
dd 16 AH1 -bits & pieces (previously used Bigger, Preparing, CtC, RtR, Rev, MMtM, WG, WH)
dd 12 REV (previously used LHTH, LHfHG, Beyond, Bigger, Preparing, CtC, & RtR)
