Preparing question

Post by creekmama » Tue Jan 07, 2014 8:16 pm

An organizational question for other moms who have done/are doing Preparing: Just starting Preparing with my 9yo son. He did his first written narration today for history. I'm interested to know where your kids wrote/kept their narrations. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a 3-ring binder that we are using for all of the writing projects except the "Common Place Book." Three dividers, History, Science, and English. The narration went in History because it was about History. Draw and Write Through History went in History. Science pages, experiments, go in Science obviously, and English writing from Rod & Staff in English.

I also have a 3ring binder. But I keep her history in and science in there only. And then she has a notebook for spelling, grammar, common place book, vocabulary, and math. I know that probably sounds convoluted excessive but it works for us.

Although I am using notebooks with sheet protectors for history and science, I have separate composition books for English, dictation, and narration. Whatever works best for you, as long as you can find it each day. :D I found the composition books are small, but I can get my hands on them. I didn't want more loose papers. Everyone is different.

We use a 3 ring binder for everything except we use a composition book for dictation.

I glue them into their History Notebooks. We use sketch books.
