Helping family with my books

Post by torgymom » Wed Oct 23, 2013 5:54 pm

Hi. I had called and left a message a week or so back. Thanks, Mike, for calling me back. I am trying to help out a family with 5 children by loaning my books to them. They cannot afford much and so I feel like I want to help. They have a 5, 7, 10, 12, 14. Do you think that lending them my LHFHG for the youngest two, and Resurrection to Reformation for the oldest three will work? The last school they were in was a Mennonite school. The mom is concerned about helping the older ones with math. She was Amish and I think went to school through 8th grade. Do you think Singapore will work the best? I just want to make sure I am helping her in the best way I can. I feel God has blessed us with being able to purchase your books every year and so I would like to bless them. Thanks for any advice! All four of my children love your stuff as do I! Thanks for the great materials you work hard to provide to us!

HI Sandy, and welcome to the HOD Board! :D That is very kind of you to help out your friend. I think LHFHG for the 5 and 7 yo will be fine. RTR would probably be fine for the 12 and 14 yo, but I don't know about for the 10 yo. I wonder if your friend could look at the placement chart to see? Or if you know them well enough to look at it and see if the 10 yo could actually do RTR? It's a pretty advanced 10 yo that has done HOD for awhile usually that can handle RTR. Let us know what you find out about the placement chart if you get the chance! The first page of it is most important, as it is their reading, writing, math, and grammar. Here is a link to it...

If you could share anything about the 10, 12, and 14 yo's reading, writing, math, and grammar - if you are able - we will all chime in with placement help!
In Christ,
