I am new to homeschooling...I have read and re-read the program selection charts....still confused? I have a 7 yr old(2nd grade) and a 10 yr old(5th grade) it says that BHFHG can be used for 4-5th graders with extension package...so am I understand that by using just BHFHG and adding extension pkg, this will be sufficient for my 5th grader, along with her math program? any help appreciated!! thank you! kari

Re: combining question
Welcome to homeschooling.
- and to HOD. Those are both great choices.
.
You said you've looked at the program selection charts- did you look at the placement chart as well? That's where you can see where their skills would best match with a guide. Bigger would work for your child with the extensions, but she might place in Preparing instead. Check out the chart and let us know what you think and we can go from there.

Re: combining question
Unless you are really set on combining them, I would use separate guides. For any of my children that are two grade levels apart, I've always kept them separated, and that's worked very well for us. I might even use Beyond for your second grader and Creation to Christ for the fifth grader, depending on the placement chart results.
16yo DD using US History 1 for 11th grade
14yo DS using World Geography for 9th grade
13yo DS using Rev to Rev for 7th grade
10yo DD using Creation to Christ for 5th grade
8yo DD using Bigger for 3rd grade
7yo DD using Beyond Hearts for 2nd grade
14yo DS using World Geography for 9th grade
13yo DS using Rev to Rev for 7th grade
10yo DD using Creation to Christ for 5th grade
8yo DD using Bigger for 3rd grade
7yo DD using Beyond Hearts for 2nd grade
