Got Our Order Today!

Yay! Now I can get everything organized and we can start next week probably. The only thing I am SLIGHTLY sad about is we ended up with Hearing and Helping instead of Just Thinking and Choosing for the first grade fine motor skills. But, we can make it work.

I emailed and asked already. It is only a $3.25 book though, so shipping it back will probably cost more than the book. But I already have washi tape on the bindings of all of the books to tell me what guides they belong with, and I have organized our homeschool bookshelf. I am getting excited! Oh, and the kids are already listening to the CDs for LHTH

Congrats on getting your order - HOORAY! Have fun looking through your new and exciting things you'll get to enjoy this coming year!!! In regard to the fine motor skills - I have looked at both choices, and honestly, both are solid! I'd, personally, be happy with either. Having looked at so many 'workbooks' for this age, the R & S selections just can't be beat. You can't go wrong with them. I think they may be the only truly aptly named 'critical thinking' type books available. If you finish LHFHG, and you are still having that feeling you wish you'd done "Just Thinking and Choosing," when you order Beyond, you could sure add that $3.25 book at that point. I might! We finished the K choices in LHFHG, but I'm in the same boat as you - only I'm longingly looking at all THREE options I didn't get to use. We'll see. For now, summer calls, and that means - take a break already, Julie.

Oh, I think the Hearing and Helping is good, but I thought the more advanced one might be better She will enjoy both either way though. So, depending on how fast she goes through the two books, we may just order parts of Beyond early and get the extra book (as well as some Bigger books like Preparing to Build).

We got our order today as well! Everything looks GREAT! I too got Hearing and Helping but like you said the Thinking and Choosing is only $3.25 so I can always order that if I feel the need. My sis in law and I went school shopping tonight (she has a ds in MFW 1st grade...haven't been able to convert her over yet to HOD lol) but we got everything we need and are all set to start our first official school day in the morning! I'm so excited and so are my kiddos!
