Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had about 2 weeks off from school. We just picked up LHFHG and are going to do it in its entirety except for the Phonics choices. We are going to sub in ER's there. We're also going to do half of a day in a day for now, because we just have really struggled finding our rhythm. The school is fine, it's just that we are so ingrained in our military community that I have in any given week at least two mornings that are taken up with meetings or other things, and when we get home, we're so tired or have something else we can't get to school. It's been really weird, and I take responsibility. That said, DD5.5 is progressing along. All our toys are educational or Christian (or both) in our house, so I have chosen to take the CM approach and recognize that she doesn't need to do formal schooling till she's 6.
She likes it, though, so we are just starting back. I have a chart I made that I can't attach here. It just tracks RH and LH separately by day and unit so we can keep ourselves on track and see how quickly we're progressing through LHFHG. My goal is to finish it by the end of this year. DH will be gone for work for significant parts of the year, so we will do school if he's not home, and not do school if he is. That's one reason we homeschool.
I think it's working well. DD5.5 also has a definite tolerance level, and if I run into it, she's done. Hence, for now, we're back to half-speed. It's been a jerky ride, but I love how HOD is set out so I don't have to wonder if I've missed something.
