Welcome to the HOD Board!

We are doing RTR, and it is an outstanding program. My ds is learning so much!

The book selections have been so good they are hard to put down. The RTR Student Book pages are absolutely full of beautiful pictures of the famous people we are reading about, and the lovely artwork of the time period. It has really made this time period come to life for us, and it's also making such a neat keepsake of the year. One of the things we have loved is the balance in RTR. The readings, the writing assignments, the hands-on are balanced so nicely. Likewise, the independent, semi-independent, and teacher-directed time is balanced so well. RTR is a very full program. The amount of reading each day has been just right for my ds to be able to flourish with the CM skills of oral narration and written narration, and he has also had the time he needs to hone the many other skills included as follow-ups to the readings. I personally would not add anything more to the day. However, you will know best what you'd enjoy here. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to begin with RTR first, and then see if you still want to add the additional MOH book. Either way, I'm sure you'd enjoy all RTR has to offer. I look forward to getting to know you more here - this board is full of such encouragement! I bet you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
In Christ,
Julie
