Re: Help with Placement

IMHO, 3.5 seems really young to begin Little Hearts. Even if he's reading, I wouldn't start it until he's at least 4.5. Learning in the early years doesn't necessarily need to be challenging. I would try the Little Hands to Heaven or another early learning curriculum. Find something where you can fo...

Re: LHFHG with Older Child & 2nd Thoughts on Placement

My son is first grade while we are doing Little Hearts and we love it. He was 6 years 4 months when we started. In a lot of ways he placed in Beyond, but my instincts told me that Little Hearts would be better and I don't regret the decision at all. Look at the placement chart and see where your son...

Our first week of Little Hearts

We just finished our first week of Little Hearts for His Glory. My 6 yo DS is loving it!!!!! He loves each and every part of our day. He loves the wonderful math exploration activities (thanks to Beyond). He loves the science activities and the bible time. He asks everyday for me to turn on the musi...

Re: Would switching math programs set us back?

If you are happy with what you are using, continue with it. If you think you'd like to switch, I wouldn't worry about being behind. Singapore is ahead in many aspects to other programs, so many 2nd graders start with 1A or 1B. This is not uncommon. We've only used Singapore for a year so far, but I'...

Re: Catalog arrived!

I received mine as well. 1 in the mail box and 1 in the package that I ordered. I'll definitely be looking through it, but I've already ordered everything for this year.

Re: question about motor skills section in LHFHG

I just received my box with the manual and the fine motor skills books. I thought it was Hearing and Helping that I had ordered, but Just Thinking and Choosing is what I got. It's also what is in the new manual.

Re: question about motor skills section in LHFHG

I just ordered mine of July 10th and the new guide along with those 2 books are supposed to be here soon...today or tomorrow I think. I think when I ordered it still said Going on Eagerly and Hearing and Helping. I'm not sure....maybe they ran out of Hearing and Helping. You'd have to call HOD to fi...

Science for Little Hearts for 1st Grader

We'll be using Little Hearts with the 1st grade options for our DS 6. Just wondering what people's opinions are on the science books. The science activities in Little Hearts go with The World God Made, so I thought it would be nice to have those matching up. However, I know that Our Father's World i...

Re: New LHFHG guide

The new guide will have the new Kindergarten Math explorations that will match up to the new K math books. There will also be updating the directions for the new 1st grade rod and staff books that are replacing Thinking Skills.

Re: Kindergarten Math...Singapore vs Math U See

My personal opinion is to use the more traditional math program (Singapore) that HOD suggests. If It doesn't appear to be working well for your child, then try a different program such as Math U See. My ds age 6 has done well with Kindergarten essential math and I intend to stick with it unless I ha...
