Re: Which Reading Books To Choose?

OK, I just realized that the oldest has been reading Diary of A Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants books. Not the best books, I know, but I'm wondering if I can use those to determine where to put him in reading?

Re: Which Reading Books To Choose?

Sorry its, Bigger. I keep getting confused! I don't actually know what books they can read...I have seen my youngest pick up a book and read it with no problem from the library, but I can't remember what it was. It was about science though. I know that doesnt help much.

Which Reading Books To Choose?

I am going to have my almost 8 year old and almost 10 year old in Bigger starting this summer. I am not sure which reading books to choose for them, and I am not sure what reading levels they are at. They have both been in school for 2 years while I had to take a break from homeschool. I am also not...

Bigger For My 2 Sons?

I am looking at using HOD this fall for my sons who are going to be 8 & 10. I would love some advice! I'm looking at either Bigger or Preparing, but I don't know which I should choose. Thanks!

Missing Item from Chemistry 500 Kit

Hi,
We are doing MTMM this year and the bottle of Litmus that is used with most of the experiments is empty. Kind of weird. Does anyone know how I can get more of this stuff? Lol. I am trying to look online but can't figure it out.

Re: Need Help Please

Thank you for your responses. I chose MTMm for my almost 14 yr old, since technically he is still in 8th. It seemed better to start him on that from where we are at now then throw him into the high school guide. For my two youngest, I chose BHFHG. We just did LHFGG and I can't do it again so soon. I...

Re: Need Help Please

Thank you Stephanie :)
I didn't think to check for placement for my older son. That is probably a good idea! And I wasn't thinking about if I should combine them long term or not. I was just thinking of now. That is something good to consider!

Re: Need Help Please

I guess I should add we are now doing a unit study curriculum where the kids are learning the same things basically. They are do Bible time together, then the two youngest do science and history together. So my 5 year old is just sitting in and getting things here and there.

Need Help Please

Hi I used HOD last school year - I did LHFHG for my 6 year old and Rev2Rev for my 12 year old. We enjoyed it, but I decided to do something else this year. I like what we are doing, but it is just not the same as HOD. I really think my now almost 14 yr old would enjoy HOD and get much more out of it...

Combining Kids

I did LHFHG last year with my 6 year old. He just turned 7 in Sept. My youngest turned 5 this month. I also have a 13 yr old. I need to be able to combine my two youngest, but I'm not sure if I can with HOD. I don't know how much my son got from LHFHG last year. He loved story time and did well with...

Making A Transcript ASAP

My oldest going back to public school this fall. I need to bring in a transcript for his 9th grade year we are finishing. He did Rev2Rev, with the extension pack, plus he did Japenese course online and he took choir/drama every friday. I am so lost on how to make the transcript because that seems li...

Re: High School Level Writing

Thank you so much Julie. I am like you in the grading dept - I have very high standards for their work. I expect most of it to be done to perfection. Unless it's just one of those days, lol. I read that you should not put straight A's on the transcript though, because it isn't realistic. I did see t...

Help with LHTH

Hello I bought LHTH to start with my youngest last Sept (he turned 4 in Oct). However when it came time to start he had absolutely no interest and fought me tooth and nail. So I stopped trying. Since then he has shown interest in some R&S workbooks I had laying around off and on. He does them really...
