Also, is the 10 year old able to read to the younger kids? Possibly could your husband read in the evenings? That would be like pulling teeth here but I know some men like to read.

Home school co_op had a years subscription to Tales 2go for very cheap. I think $39. It had a lot of great classics and books. Also has songs. It is only for apple things though (iPod etc.) Also check your library. I can order pretty much any audio book I need. Try interlibrary loans if your regular...

I've decided to go with Bigger for my daughter and preparing for my son. I am going to buy the economy pack for each but money is tight so could someone please let me know what I definitely need for the first 8 weeks or so. I am going to do our own math and English that we have. I am getting the DIT...

Re: New to HOD - ? about kids age 8 and 13
Thank you so much. I will have him read this and then decide.
Also, is it doable to use the library instead of purchasing all the books? If I am going to be buying two different levels I won't be able to get everything right now.
I really appreciate all of your guys help. God bless.

Re: New to HOD - ? about kids age 8 and 13
I've/been reading more posts on this forum and I see a few people have used Bigger with two children similar in ages to mine. Would that be an easier/better choice for me?

Re: New to HOD - ? about kids age 8 and 13
Thank you so much for the response. You bring up some great points. I looked at the books and I need clarification. The books in the economy pack are to be read by the student alone? Is that for each level or just starting at C to C? He can read those books but would he? I doubt it. My other Hesitan...

New to HOD - ? about kids age 8 and 13
I have been looking at HOD for awhile now. I have two kids. My son just turned 13. He reads we'll but doesn't enjoy reading. He can narrate almost word for word. He still enjoys being read to. He is a horrible speller but this is mainly my fault because of my lack in doing this consistently. Languag...
