Re: Placement Help and HOD with LD

Wow, water2wine, that was extremely helpful to me. It can seem pretty overwhelming when you have child that struggles so even though you weren't addressing me, I appreciated what you said!

Re: Placement Help and HOD with LD

It's great that you have a heart to help her where the school simply cannot. I am keeping my twins in for the last 5 years but it's a fact that my son is getting labeled and feeling "less than" the whole time. It's really too bad. It sounds like you have many things on your side with all the experie...

Re: Placement Help and HOD with LD

Well, you will love the catalog. That's what did it for me! I read the whole thing to my DH on a road trip! lol... I kept coming back to HOD as I looked around so I figured the Lord knew what He was doing so I needed to take a step of faith. I'm really excited about it so sorry for going on!!!!! :D

Re: Placement Help and HOD with LD

I'm not going to be too helpful but I did want to say that I ended up purchasing Beyond for my 7 year old twins to start in the fall. One of my twins has some issues that sound somewhat similar. I felt that my other twin could have done Bigger but I wanted them together and I can give her more advan...

LA Question

I am going to be doing Bigger with my twins in the fall. They would be going into 2nd grade if they were in traditional school. It seems like a lot of people do Bigger for 1st grade but my son needs more help and I wanted to keep them together. Anyway, should I try to add the R&S 2 this year or just...

Re: Is this a good idea?

Hi Jessie! This fall will be my 1st year with HOD (and homeschooling at all!) but I'm a huge planner. I love that the bulk is done for me but with a child who has special needs child where learning is concerned, I will have some extra things I need to do. So, I'm planning on using something but have...

So excited!!

I just placed my order for BLHFHG and all the goodies that I got with it. I was kind of worried that I was ordering too early for a fall start but I'm just so anxious to get my hands on the manual and the books!! :D

Level 2 DITHOR Book Pack

Has anyone used this for a 2nd grader? I see the reading level is 3.0-4.1 and I got nervous. My daughter is a great reader but without seeing these books, I am unsure if she can read them. The emerging books seem too easy, though--at least, the Bible does. Any thoughts??

I can't wait to hear how it goes! I've been following this discussion because it mirrors my own internal battle so much!

Re: Decisions

Thank you all for your encouragement and help!! Pam, my son also wears prism glasses (bifocals). He'll be in vision therapy at least through the summer. I do think my daughter could go to Bigger but I do want to keep them together as much as possible (reading will have to be different) since they ar...
