We finished our first year today
And it went so well. I do hope that next year I do better with the hands on stuff in Beyond. But we are done and I am pleased. We even filled up the kids new pool and played after we were done.

Re: LHFHG issues with Unit 32 and 33
Thank you. Now I know why it has been a bit confusing to me that we read about the Bell twice. LOL
Thanks again that makes sense.

Re: LHFHG issues with Unit 32 and 33

Re: LHFHG issues with Unit 32 and 33
I do have the alternate schedule it stops at Until 31.
I do not have those pages in my book I have the new book.
I guess I just won't worry about doing anymore of that book.

LHFHG issues with Unit 32 and 33
ON day 5 of unit 32 it says to read pages 245-246 in History Stories for Children. My book only goes up to page 196. Also on the alternate schedule it only goes through unit 31. Also on day 1 of unit 33 it says to read pages 31-33. Those are about Alexander the Great and the middle of his story too....

Re: Math 6 TT Now Where?
Well that is the one thing that I didn't like about Video Text. The answer was there but I didn't know how to tell him to get that answer. With TT every problem is worked out so you can know how you get that answer. Clarification by moderator: Current editions of VT do include a full-text answer key...

Re: Any helpful hints for Beyond??
I have not suggestions but will be watching this thread as we are just finishing up LHFHG and starting Beyond in the fall.
I would say that if I were you I would not start until after the baby. That is the beauty of homeschooling.

Re: Another question
I would not do both. I would just choose one. I would think that the Abeka would be fine to use though. You won't get the questions but you could ask your own or Abeka probably has some.

Re: History stories for Children - LHFHG
The new schedule is in the guide though just in the front or back. I can't remember. But what I did was go through and write the right pages on the days it said to.

Re: A discouraging post about feeling burnt out
Your post brings back so many memories of years ago when my now 16yos was that age. He did have dyslexia and other LDs but honestly a lot of his was laziness. There were areas I should have not gotten frustrated with but honestly school is just something you have to do whether you like it or not. So...

Re: We've decided to stay with HOD long-term!
I am there with you. I have spent the past 14 years of homeschooling searching and trying everything out there I think. My two oldest will graduate in the next there years so no HOD for them. But I have a 5yo and a 3yo and I have found our home here and we will not be changing unless the Lord change...

Can someone help me with DITHOR?
Would this be something I could use with my 10th and 11th graders?
Can you tell me how it works? I look at it but it confuses me.
I am trying to research options for their LA next year.
Thanks

Beyond Little Hearts question
I am just a bit concerned if my son will be ready for this next year. We will finish LHFHG in about 10 weeks and I will probably not start BLHFHG until fall. Anyway it just seems that my son will not be ready for the writing and spelling part of BLHFHG. Can someone tell me if it starts out slow or w...
