Re: Special needs placement question.
I was just looking over Beyond LH and that looks like something she would be able to do. Hmmmm.

Special needs placement question.
I see I have posted a long time ago now...2010. I have been all over the place with curriculum and never settled down with anything. I have 3 children at home for schooling. My daughter Veronica has down syndrome she is 12 1/2 year old. We have been very relaxed and she is very delayed due to my not...

Considering coming back to HOD - down syndrome
I am considering HOD again for my daughter with down syndrome. We had started a few years ago and now I don't even know why we stopped. I have tried combining her with her little brother and Sonlight and she just needs more hands on activities and isn't really interested in what we are reading. She ...

Re: Week in Review 5/10 - 5/14
I'll share from our first week of using LHTH with our DD and DS2. I don't know how to post photos so I'll just have to share with words. The first two days DD was very eager to do everything, singing, reading and of course any projects...she loves to do hands on stuff. By day 3, she just slumped in ...

Adding to LHTH?
Just looking for some thoughts. Our DD has down syndrome and is pretty delayed. We have been doing LHTH this week. She is loving it. I think she is ready for a bit more but I don't know if she is ready for LHFHG. We also have her busy little brother tagging along on the LHTH journey. I am thi...

Re: DITHOR for reluctant readers?
My ds was a reluctant reader at the beginning of this year. I used some books that were "easy" for him and this seemed to help. I figured one of the important things was getting him to think about the book and the literary elements, so even if it was easy he could still do that. I would then altern...

What do you do during the summer?
I know my DD needs a very good routine to her day. We have just started doing LHTH this week and plan to work for another 6-7 weeks as DS1 finishes up part of his year. This is the first year we have ever been using a curriculum. It has been pretty nice. :D I am wondering if I should keep working wi...

Re: 2yo and LHTH?
Our just turned 2yo is loving it. He is tagging along with his big sister. He runs around chanting "do school, do school". Lays down with his bible and is eager to do all the "work". He may be my easiest student. I will be working through things with him again when he is older on his own. Have fun!

Re: Has anyone comb/spiral bound the Guides?
I know there are a couple threads on this subject.
I had the binding cut off LHTH and three hole punched it. It is working out really well since there are things to be copied. I also like being able to put pockets in the binder to hold the copies we need for each day.

Creating good habits?
I struggle with my days - we have large age gaps between the kids and long days with DD rising before 6 most days. We unschooled for a very long time with our 12yo and haven't really started much work with DD(she has down syndrome). DS1 is now doing a boxed curriculum but I struggle to get him on a ...

Re: Musing about the teen years...
Our oldest just turned 12 in Feb. DH has wondered about sending him to school as we have a young one and our DD has special needs. DS1 has said he wants to go to high school. He is very social and fills that need by playing soccer. Playing soccer is the reason he wants to go to high school. W...

LHTH all in one sitting or sprinkled through the day?
Just wondering if anyone can share how LHTH has worked for them? I have it scheduled to be broken out through the day. My DD doesn't seem to thrilled with that. She didn't want to listen to the Bible reading and refused to do any circle time songs or finger plays. Part of it is starting back ...

Re: Two with LHTH...how will this really work?
Thanks so much for the ideas ladies. Veronica has down syndrome so her little brother has been quickly catching up to her. It will be good for them to be doing seperate things. Plus, I know I just don't challenge her enough.
Now I have some new opitions to ponder and pray about.
Thanks!

Re: Excited our box came!!!!
Christi, So happy to hear about your dc's excitement over their new books. :D I just wanted to agree with you that you should stick to the manual. We both are coming from the same background I believe of planning our own things. I'll just be starting HOD in the fall for the first time and I'm so lo...

Excited our box came!!!!
First I have to say I was so pleased with the customer service from HOD. I had ordered two of the same bible for my little ones and HOD called to make sure I had meant to do that. My box came today and I am even more thrilled to see all the materials in person. The kids have been pouring over the bi...
