Re: $435 for complete set??
The up side of this, you will either be able to sell it at the end of the school year or if you have younger children, reuse. Reducing your purchases for the next year. Very little of each year is consumable, so either option is very viable. We just love this curriculum though and I'm sure you will ...

Re: HOD Cares
I agree. We just ordered RTR and other than what we could find at the library, we ordered through HOD. I was just so grateful for such a beautifully organized and well thought out curriculum, I couldn't even think about awarding someone else that sale. Can barely wait for RTR TM and Notebooking page...

Re: Sample Book Ideas List for DITHOR
If you work simply from the list, they are listed by genre. If you just let them choose from the library you'll have to see what they choose and match it to genre. I also looked up book lists on the internet. For example, I googled Adventure novels for high school boys and actually found a Christian...

Re: Sample Book Ideas List for DITHOR
The book list says thing like 5-8, 6+, 6-9, but definitely all the way through 8th. The plus side is any book will work with DITHOR. I just told my boys what kind of book they were looking for, Adventure for example, and they went into the library and came back with several options. I chose the most...

Re: RTR, again
I don't know that I'm really qualified to answer, but here it goes. As far as I can tell there isn't a 6/7/8 book pack, but when you buy the the DITHOR package with the teacher manual and the student manual you get a sample book list. Most of the books listed I was able to find at the library or to ...

Re: I keep coming back!
I check in frequently to get encouragement! I love reading others questions, just to see the answers and see where other folks are heading with HOD. I love LHFHG and am looking forward to RTR in the Fall and Beyond in the winter.

Re: Choosing curriculum for 1st & 3rd graders
Just wanted to second the use of Singapore Math over MUS. I thought for sure my son would excel with MUS because of the hands on. He got bored with the length of the lessons, the way the lessons in Singapore are presented in the HOD guide makes it fun, hands on and they seem to be learning without r...

Been homeschooling in MO for 6 years, we aren't really required to provide proof unless asked. I just keep track of the days we did school, field trips, karate, swimming, keep a hold of the weekly schedule showing what was done each day. No, everything didn't require an hour, but it could have; that...

Re: Wondering what's next?
Thank you so much for the links, I'll get busy researching. We're getting ready to start for the summer in the next week or so, we're all really excited for the bigger boys to join us in the HOD family. TOG was great but my oldest was getting so tired of me not getting his weekly schedule done, now ...

Re: Wondering what's next?
Thanks ladies. I've been doing LHFHG this year with my 6.5 and 4.5 year olds, we absolutely love it. The teacher guides help so much, my husband can do it, I can do it and sometimes my 15.5 year old helps out with the reading. I keep getting drawn to look at RTR for my olders, just wasn't sure if I ...

Re: Daughter showed off CTC at our Homeschool Fair
That is so great. I've been watching her projects develop through the year on your blog and have always been so impressed with the care she puts into everything. I'm glad she got to share with other homeschoolers her efforts and how great HOD is.

Re: Ordering RTR, have some questions?
Thanks for the answer. I'm really looking forward to using RTR and want to be sure my kids get the best experience. I don't want them to have to wait while I order the books I should have ordered in the first place.

Ordering RTR, have some questions?
Just some quick questions on ordering RTR. I have an 8th and 10th grader that I plan on using RTR w/ in the fall. We are finishing up TOG year 1 and planning to use DITHOR over the summer with some readings from the Ancients. My question is, when I order, do I order the Basic history reading books a...

Wondering what's next?
I am seriously considering scrapping TOG for next year and going with RTR, the problem is I really need to know that I won't be left without a future. Have the guides consistently come out each year or does it seem to take a little longer? I don't want to switch if I don't have an immediate future. ...
