Re: Discovering Design with Chemistry-Question on Experiment
You are correct that rubbing alcohol won’t work. The denatured alcohol for experiment 2, chapter 3 of the book can be found next to the paint in a hardware store. It is used for paint thinner, and it does say denatured alcohol on the can. You will need it for more experiments during the year so it ...

Discovering Design with Chemistry-Question on Experiment
My son is trying to do the Experiment assigned on Unit 3 Day 3 of US I. It calls for ABSOLUTE ETHYL ALCOHOL ONLY!!! I assume this is different from the 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol that we have. Where can I get this from? I looked on Amazon and don't see any there. Also any ideas how to tightly att...

Re: Bored with Reb and the Redcoats

I'd say it is a personal thing as one of the previous posters was naming books they loved like Florence Nightingale and War Horse and personally those are ones we liked the least. We felt like Florence was repetitive, she is an angel, and War Horse th...

So we bought our hardback journals and the black drawing pens from Miller Pads and Paper at the homeschool convention back in April. My kiddos have started their journals and everything is lovely except the black pens are bleeding through the pages some. Did anyone else have this issue? They have ta...

Re: Quick Question about pacing for English for dd
Lynn, I totally haven't decided but when I talked to Julie and Mike, they both were saying that it is nice to be able to do the 4 yrs of high school over 5 years. Right now dd will graduate at 17 (she doesn't have a b-day til July) and if we didn't do it over 5 years she would be 16 and I definitely...

Quick Question about pacing for English for dd
My dd just turned 12 and is in 7th grade doing Missions to Modern Marvels. I am wondering if I should have her do all of English 6 like the manual suggests or just half of English 6 since she is just in 7th grade....not sure what to do. Thanks for any help.

Re: NEED High School Math Advice
Thanks for the replies, ladies. They were a big help. Daneale, I don't know I would call it unrest....it was that I was looking at what HOD suggested for high school math and thought Videotext looked great and thought I think it would work well for my dd and if it was such a great program, then mayb...
