Re: Time for Bigger Hearts
Thanks so much! I know beyond a doubt much of our problem is the read alouds. My girls contantly beg for more, so we end up reading 2 or 3 times what is scheduled for the day. Also, if there is any kind of art in the assignment, it takes them FOREVER! My older daughter is an amazing little artist, b...

How many oceans are there?
I thought I was going crazy until I saw it right there in print. In Unit 1 day one of Bigger hearts it says 4 oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic). Then on day 4 of Unit 1, it says 5 oceans adding the Antarctic. Which is right???? I knew we studied 5 oceans last year in Beyond! Thanks, Teresa

Re: 5yr old and 8yr old(1st/3rd grade) which curriculum together
I guess this won't help you much since you have already done Bigger. My girls are 5 yrs old (1st grade) and almost 8 yrs old (beg 3rd grade). I am using the left hand side of Bigger (history, Bible, geography, poetry, etc. and science on right) with both girls. So far it is working just fine with my...

Time for Bigger Hearts
First of all, I want to say that we are really enjoying HOD this year. I am using the left hand page from Bigger for both my girls. Then the right hand side of Bigger with my 3rd grader and the right hand side of Beyond with my 1st grader. However, I am somewhat discouraged that it is taking us five...

Drawn into the Heart of Reading for 3rd Grade
I am planning to start this program with my 3rd grader this summer. She is currently an average 2nd grade reader. I am hoping to go with one of the recommended packages for DITHR and wonder if she falls in the Level 2 or the Level 3 books? I'm somewhat confused with the numbers. For example, does 3....

Which phonics for LHFHG
We have just stated LHFHG with all intentions of using Abeka K5 phonics. However, I am very disappointed with it so far. Which curriculum is better, the Reading Made Easy or The Reading Lesson? My daughter knows most of her sounds and is reading to start blending.
Thanks!
Teresa
Thanks!

Re: Early Reader or Beginner's Bible?
Hi, Terri! I am by no means an expert on this. We just started our school year yesterday using LHFHG and BLHFHG. I bought the Early Reader's Bible for my second grader and after one day decided to order the Beginner's Bible. My dd is in the 2nd grade and is reading pretty much on her own. The Early ...

Placement question
I am considering HOD for my daughter's second grade year. However, I am unsure as to start with Beyond Little Hearts or Bigger Hearts. After reviewing the placement chart, I feel she fits the Bigger Hearts criteria with the exception of "done with phonics". She has had two years of phonics and I was...
