Another Foerster question -
how easy is it for a non-math mom to oversee?
Thanks.

Re: Foerster's - how long for the mom each day?
I would consider those times pretty accurate. We've completed through chapter seven in Foerster's. For the first four or five chapters I rarely presented anything b/c it was review. Then I started having her meet with me first (for new material) so that I could explain things and work through a cou...

StephanieU - That's more or less the "formula" that I would like! I'm curious to see if others have found that forumula to be effective at the higher level.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Foerster's - how long for the mom each day?
HI all, We are solidly ready for Algebra 1 and I'm trying to discern which route. We spend A LOT of time on math each day. It has paid off, but I need to have a clear picture of how much teaching time I will need to spend one to one on each subject area. What has been your experience? How much time ...

Re: Sneak Peek #9: New World History Guide
Carrie,
Thank you. We need 3 foreign language credits, so would the last part of the AO Lifepac Book two count for the first 1/2 credit of Spanish 3? IF so, any suggestions on how we could round out that last 1/2 a credit?

Oh my! I am. excited. about this! Carrie, you may have commented on this elsewhere, if so you can redirect me. I'm trying to understand how to put this on the transcript, since the students will be using a Spanish 1 course for the second half of Spanish 1 and the first half of Spanish 2. Am I correc...

Re: Sneak Peek #8: New World History Guide
The history post... at last! I'm so delighted to see that you are using another pacworks resource. I really, really like their materials. And all the other materials offer such wonderful depth. Nicely done. Do you have an alternate suggestion for a student who has just completed Trial and Triumph? W...

We just completed the Dittman book last week. What a treat it would be to see and hear her in person!

Re: Sneak Peek #5: New World History Guide
This looks fabulous! Wonderfully thought out. This may have been outlined in the post. I see where the students are completing a project a week, but what about the other components. How often are they used and how long do you anticipate the session lasting? Also, did you give any consideration to Ar...

Re: Science Help Please!
I would definitely do what you are planning and if she picks up momentum and wants to do the entire course I would let her. You can always beef-up and give her a credit for Chemistry and a credit for Physics. Even though HOD doesn't count it this way and I understand their reasoning. The author of t...

A thought for those with children in older guides
The life of a homeschool mom is FULL, so full that one might not have time to do much more than give your older child his or her guide and books and send them on their way. But I want to give you a nudge to take some time to enjoy the guide and the readings as you have time. I spend so much time wit...
