Singapore Earlybird US edition not available after May 31st?

Post by Hillcrest Academy » Fri Apr 18, 2008 5:51 pm

I was just looking on the Singaporemath.com web site and it says:

"Earlybird U.S. Edition will not be available after May 31 2008. This series has been replaced by Earlybird Standards Edition."

On the Earlybird Standards Edition page it says "Earlybird Kindergarten Standards Edition has been approved for school adoption by the California State Board of Education."

Does anyone know how the two differ? We have started with Earlybird US Editions and I'm just wondering if I should buy books in advance or if it will be OK to continue with the Standards edition.

I can partially answer my own question after a quick look online

After a quick scan at the forums at Singaporemath, it looks like most people are happy about the switch since Standards covers more from a little earlier, with added mental math and more repetition.

Well, I guess that is good, but I am sighing at yet another revised schedule in LHFHG. This will be the 4th one.

~"Uncle Wiggly" has been replaced by "Jerry Muskrat" I have plans to cut out the revised squares and tape them on top of the Uncle Wiggly Squares.

~"Family Time Bible" has been replaced by "101 Favorite Stories" Of course now you can get the Family Time Bible again, and 101 Fav can be penciled in easily.

~History Stories for Children 2007 Edition- this can be penciled in easily

~And now Singapore- I wonder if this will change up the activites scheduled in LHFHG. I looked at the samples and it does look like there is a bit more of a lesson, but I really like the old fashioned look of the older books. I don't like most modern stuff. And will you have to have BOTH the text and the wb for it to work???.............Someone sold me their EB 2B, maybe I need to sell some more stuff so that I can get 2A before they stop selling them May 31st??

Ladies,

We have purchased enough stock of Earlybird Math to not need a revised schedule for it until LHFHG is reprinted with all updates. There will not be a new printing of LHFHG for at least another year. So, that leaves the updates for "Little Hearts..." at two: History Stories and Uncle Wiggly. We work hard to post replacement schedules for all books as needed and also to provide those schedules for free (with inserts in our guides and as a free printable version on our website).

For those of you who have already purchased LHFHG, with the previous History Stories and Uncle Wiggly, there's no revisions, if you want to use it again with upcoming kiddos. 8)

Blessings,
Carrie
