LHFHG: Is there a big difference between science texts?
LHFHG: Is there a big difference between science texts?
My son will be 5.5yo when we start. His skills are at more of a post-K level but I'm not sure whether that would effect the science options. It's just that I am beyond tight on funds after already, perhaps foolishly, spending my homeschool budget this year and I happen to already own Our Father's World. Is there that big of a difference between it and the K option?

You would probably be all right with what you have. The majority of the science learning in LHFHG takes place through the hands-on activities in the guide. The text is used to be read aloud to the child as a connection. It is scheduled in the appendix of LHFHG. If he is nearly 1st grade level and can listen to slightly longer readings, you should be fine
