Has anyone tried to CC Essentials and HOD?

Post by tbarr12 » Mon May 02, 2011 6:14 pm

I am toying with the idea of putting oldest dd in Classical Conversations Essentials for next year. The writing part of the program appeals to me - she will be doing CTC next year, and I would prefer for her to begin IEW sooner, so that's why I am considering it. However, I realize that it would add grammar work as well as writing on to her HOD program, and I realize that's a major drawback.

Before I make a definite decision (and I"m leaning towards not doing it), I just want to hear from anyone out there who may have done Essentials and HOD at the same time. Did it work, or not? And why? Thanks!

Hi Tracey! I think this link may help...

I just wanted to encourage you that "Write with the Best" helped my ds grow so much in his writing ability, and we found IEW's "Medieval History- Based Writing Lessons" to be an excellent follow-up after WWTB. Here is a link where Carrie explains why she chose Write with the Best:
