Do It Carefully - question

Post by rgrindle » Thu Feb 10, 2011 8:19 pm

My son is loving these workbooks in LHFHG and asks to do more every day! It's wonderful. I noticed, though, that by Unit 5 you start skipping pages in Do It Carefully. Is there a reason for that? Will we be using them later? Is that extra if we need it, but don't have to do it? I'm a bit lost... :?

Hi!! :D We really enjoyed those workbooks here too- although we went through them last year when we were doing LHTH, so we did all of them, & were able to jump into the Thinking Skills book this year with LHFHG... but, I think I remember reading somewhere on the board quite a while ago- that they skipped some things that did not seem necessary, or that were already being covered in some other aspect of LHFHG (I'm thinking handwriting practice was one thing they skipped- as kiddos were already getting that practice with their handwriting book, & the "book" in the middle of the workbook was left out because of the extra time it took). This way the lessons in LHFHG stay short & sweet! :D
But, since your son seems to like them so much- I don't see any harm in doing the skipped pages whenever you would like! :D
Hope this helps a little!

Jessica answered so wonderfully. :D :D I love how Carrie writes the guides so that if you only do what is written, your kids will get a complete education, but if you have extra time you can add stuff! I am planning on doing some of those pages once we have gone through the whole alphabet with ARFH, so I don't have anything wasted, since this is my son who does not mind writing and or coloring :D :D
We are doing Finding the Answers now and he absolutely loves this one to!!!So your little one is in for another treat :D :D
Thank you to Carrie for picking such wonderful fine motor skill books, that make school such fun for the little ones :D

Yes, we're also doing LHTH with the workbooks from LHFHG right now. Next year we'll be doing the advanced workbooks as we go through LHFHG. He adores the workbooks. Thanks for the input!
