Hooray for HOD!

Post by krismoose » Thu Feb 03, 2011 9:42 pm

While I was knocked flat today by a nasty stomach bug, my wonderful dh took the day off to care for the dc. He even did some school, and got the chance to see how much Dd almost 4 *loves* doing "her school", LHTH. He even said he'd do it again :D

I am so glad that your dh found out how wonderful HOD is. It sure is a blessing to have school continue even when you are ill :D :D My dh has had the privilege of doing school with the kids on occasion and is amazed at how well Carrie puts the guides together!!
Hooray indeed for HOD!!!!!
Pray you feel better quickly, so that your dh does not take over your homeschool

Kristen,
Sorry to hear you're sick. :( Praying for your quick recovery! It's great that your husband is getting to experience school and how much your daughter loves it. I need to give my dh a chance - I keep hogging all the fun time while he's at work! I swear, I'm having too much fun with these kids. I just show my husband the LHTH guide a couple days ago, and I actually told him to go look at my blog so he could see what our projects looked like. Anyway, thanks for posting the great news. :D
Blessings,
Kristin with an "i"

Kristen, that's too bad you are sick. Praying you get over it quickly. That's one reason I like HOD - there's no mystery what the "plan" is! I have to admit every other "system" I have in the house I am the only one who knows what the system is (yes, a recovering control freak) but not with HOD! At least school can continue when the sub steps in!!! :) Hope you get better soon!

How neat your dh got to try his hand at teaching for a day! :D I do hope you feel better soon - at least your dh's involvement in your sweetie's preschool was something good that came out of it. I also wanted to congratulate you on Christlike thinking here! In the midst of sickness, you managed to find some of God's goodness - one has to be looking for it to find it in more trying times like those of sickness. Kuddos to you for choosing to be like Jesus in your thinking, and thank you for uplifting us here!!! :D :D :D

Kristen,

I'm so glad you're feeling better! I remember the first time my hubby did a day of teaching at our house. It was in LHTH too, and he was truly surprised he could do it. Honestly, so was I! :D I remember that my hubby understood better what we were doing with our school days after his turn as the teacher. Since then, he's helped me out every year, when I'm gone to conventions or have doctor's appointments, with bits and pieces of every guide we have! He has truly grown up with our guides and felt more comfortable helping if needed each year. :D He's even managed DITHR a few times, even though he'd always thought it looked too intimidating.

Blessings,
Carrie
