Conference coming to Cincinnati and the creation museum

Post by mae357 » Sun Dec 26, 2010 3:15 pm

We live in Pgh Pa and thought we'd "kill" two birds with one stone and go to the conference in Cincinnati and also go to the Creation Museum. It's about a 5 hour drive but I'm just so excited so it's worth the trip! Has anyone gone to the Creation Museum? Worth it? Thoughts? I guess before we plan on it I'd like some feedback from someone who's been there. thanks in advance!

I live in Cincinnati so we are excited that HOD is coming to the conference again. I loved getting to meet Carrie and Julie last year and look forward to seeing them again this year as well as looking over the RTR things in person. We have been to the Creation Museum twice and love it! I would highly recommend it. We went at the beginning of this year and it was a great tie in with doing CTC. My ds loved that he knew the answers to many of the computer interactive questions about Noah's Ark from things he read in Preparing. The grounds are beautiful and the petting zoo is fun. I am not sure what their schedule is for doing Camel rides or if they do them that early in the season or not, but we were able to ride on a Camel and that was a huge hit. I'm not sure how old your children are, if they are younger than 7 they might find some of it boring, but you can pick and choose what you look at. The planetarium show is very good as well as some of the other movies that they do.

Our 17 y/o has been to the museum twice. He loved it! He says make sure you have enough time to really soak it all in.

We visited in fall of 09 (we have family in the area) and dh and I *loved* it. Most of it was over our kiddos' (then 2 & 5) heads, so we went through it pretty quickly. They did enjoy the planetarum show and the replica of Noah's Ark and the petting zoo. I enjoyed browsing the Answers in Genesis materials at the bookstore while dh took the kids to the petting zoo  We hope to visit again when our youngest is maybe 6 or 7...
