Bigger Writing...

Post by MomtoJGJE » Thu Nov 18, 2010 6:27 am

We are planning on starting Bigger at half speed. Is the writing amount pretty equal for each side of the plans or should I break it down differently than left side / right side?

I would say that is it probably about equal possibly a bit more writing on the right side. On the left side, one day you'll have a history notebook activity and you have the poetry copywork one day if you choose to do that. Occasionally a geography or history activity might have a bit of writing. One day a week, you have the vocabulary activity which has a bit more writing. Then on the right side, you have your daily cursive work if you are doing that, the writing for your grammar and math. One day a week, you'll have the science notebook activity which involves writing and another day, the science experiment will require writing. Then if you are doing DITHOR, you'll have some writing with that a few days a week. So it might be a tad more writing on the right side, but it's not really that much more. HTH! :D

We are doing Bigger Hearts half-speed, and I agree with Patty's assessment. Once in awhile we move cursive to whichever day has less writing overall, or we do more/less of copywork of the poem based on the overall amount of writing within the day, or we move the written part of DITHOR to the lesser day of writing - but most of the time, it's pretty even, and with these few flexible things, we can even it out if need be.
