We did it! Everyone was able to cover all their boxes today, do chores, put away laundry and still have some FREE time this afternoon. Yippee! (I even went to the grocery store for supplies for a history project at one point.) We've worked HARD on the schedule and keeping everyone on track, but I think we just need a little more wiggle room to be successful. I do still have everyone doing a full load of their programs, but my safety net is I meet with my 9 and 5 year old in 30 minute blocks at 2 different times and cover one side of the guide in each 30 minute sitting. Then, IF we are not able to have our second meeting I just pick up the next day with the other side of the guide. This helps me feel "in control"

, keeps us on track, yet allows for all the realities of living that seem to be abundant in our home. I may ultimately downscale my 9 yo to half pace, but he's coming along pretty well. I just can't imagine him being able to do Preparing in a year! Meanwhile, I'm ecstatic about what is happening with my 11 yo who is in Preparing. His level of commitment, quality of work, and independent learning level is phenomenal. And my 13 yo after MUCH, MUCH backsliding is finally making progress. It has just taken him a few months to wake up...literally.

I am truly thankful for HOD. Our home today was a happy, hive of activity. Today we COULD have been poster children for homeschooling. Tomorrow....well, we'lll just take it one day at a time.

Gotta go...diaper changes, football, laundry and a late supper are still on my list.
