Would anyone care to share theirs? I have never done one. I attempted H'schooling two years ago and it was a disaster. What about goals for yourself as teachers?
Thanks ladies

Re: Mission Statement
I don't have a mission statement per se, but I do have a motto and verse for our school that is in my signature line. It sums up what I feel is important in school and in life. That is seeking God and His plan in all things. I guess if I had to turn it into a mission statement, I would say that my mission is for my children first and foremost to have a relationship with God seeking His plan in their lives. I suppose since it is a school mission statement, I should include something about academics, but I found a few years back that if I try to focus too much on the academics, I can easily loose sight of what is really important. Obviously academics are important in school and that is why HOD has been great for me. It has the academics and the focus on God that keeps everything in balance. I would love to hear if others have mission statements and what they are.

Re: Mission Statement
replying because I think this is good to think about and I want to come back later and post more (dh's parents are arriving from MI today and will be here through Monday or Tuesday and I need to finish decluttering the kitchen! ).
Once when I was asking for advice on homeschooling, a wise older homeschool mom asked me what my goals were. She said if we have no goals then how do we know if we're getting where we want to go. I was just plodding along in homeschooling and when things got tough, I was sideswiped; I didn't have a plan or any goals, other than giving my children a good education. We kept going, but floundered for a few years. Now we try to filter everything through our goals.
We do have a school verse, motto, and written goals. I'll share those later as I need to get busy.

Re: Mission Statement
This is an interesting thread, as I have never really thought about a mission statement. In our morning prayer we have a part that would "kind of" work as a mission statement: "May our learning glorify You, as You prepare us for the future." I guess as a teacher, that matters the most to me.
Lord bless,
