Burnout and spring fever

Post by amysconfections » Wed Mar 05, 2008 12:02 pm

Is anyone else experiencing Burnout? What about spring fever? I am ready for some pretty, warm days and I just like checking off and completing something. We only have 6 weeks worth of lessons left in Little Hearts for His Glory but I want to be done. It's not that we don't enjoy our school but I'm ready for spring field trips to the Zoo and summer swimming! :D But mostly being able to say we Completed our first year of school!!!!! I'm also ready to order next years stuff and get the thrill of opening a box of fresh school books! YUM! :P

Amy,

No burnout here! I do definately anticipate the arrival of spring though! I am looking forward to starting a garden that actually resembles a garden and produces. It was difficult trying to explain to my daughter that everything died because I didn't water enough and the soil was too poor. Our big black lab Sadie, digging in the garden didn't help matters either. So this time around I am going to make a better effort!

As far as school time, I still really get excited about making our way through Little Hands. To me, each day is like getting to open a new present and seeing what is inside. I actually keep myself from looking ahead in the manual because I love the daily anticipation. I am a goofball, I know. And yes, I could look forward to the purchase and arrival of Little Hearts in the future but, I have most everything already waiting here because I just could not wait!

I hear you about the fun field trips and swim time too!

I have to confess that right now where I live in CA, it is in the mid seventies and looks like spring!

I'm with Candice: no burnout, but anticipating spring.

I'm not really burned out...we enjoy what we're doing. I am tired of such long shool days, though, and am ready to start with Bigger. I want to be done with this year, so we can move into our new curriculum..so I think it's more impatience than anything else.

Kind of. Not with regard to school-we are at the halfway point in Bigger and loving it! Just ready for the weather to stabilize instead of vacillating from chilly to warm to windy to calm-it's like my body doesn't know how to feel

I said Kind Of. I'm very happy with our schooling. But I'm so ready for warmer weather. We normally head south for a week each winter. I'm wondering if we went too early this year. Maybe we need to push it off until mid-February instead of late January next year.

Not tired of school. We love Little Hearts, but I'm always ready to do new stuff!

I just want it to hurry up and get warm. I am so very tired of snow and ice!!

Yesterday as a matter of fact. I'm burned out schooling as a whole, not w/HOD. I told my Dh yesterday, that I'm tired of playing Suzy Homemaker and playing with a 7 yr old all day. Seems nasty, but that's really how I felt. I want to live on Room Service on the Bahama's w/an umbrella drink in my hand (doesn't have to be alcoholic) in a swim suit on the beach and do school when I want under the shady umbrella. Tiki bar wouldn't hurt. Okay...I lied about the alcohol.

Okay...I'm back now.

I said 'kind of' just because I can't wait for it to get warmer. We still love doing Little Hands. I think we like it more each day. I just need to get outside and run in the grass which since we got another inch of snow today is a little difficult right now.

I said "kind of" because we did experience burn out on Monday. We took a day off and are better now. You can check my blog to see what we did for our day off. :D

Gina,

Excellent idea for break-time from school! Every now and then we need to break away and do something completely fun!

We are planning a trip to Disneyland very soon, and the reason...Just because!

I love the name of your blog..."Beandip Blog"-How did that come about, I mean the name beandip?

Your blog looks great!

I am not at all burned out on school but I am burned out on being sick and having sick kids. In fact I just want to feel better so we can do more. But not burnt out on school. Love what we are doing!

Candice- I am hispanic so Beandip was a nickname from high school. I hope you and your family have fun at Disneyland. My in-laws get annual passes for our whole family for Christmas every year and it is such a blessing. Especially since the cost to get into the park for one day is outrageous!!

I love the photo of your daughter in the snow on your blog. It looks like you had a great time. :D

Ditto to what w2w said! My baby has the stomach flu, and I'm still figuring out my thyroid troubles - ready to be done with being sick and with all of my baby's helmet appointments - BUT, still loving school!
