Happier than I have ever been!

Post by AnaDawson » Fri Sep 11, 2009 8:41 pm

We have just completed three weeks of homeschool. I cannot imagine myself doing anything different. I have never been happier in my life. I wake up with purpose and excitement to spend time with my children. I went into this so afraid of failing. I am so thankful for Carrie, Julie, and all their families for all the hard work and sacrifices they have made in writing, researching, and proofreading all the material. I am actually a good and fun teacher for my kids! I can't imagine any other way of teaching my family. I am eternally grateful for the guidance you have given me within the teacher's manual. Carrie, there is no other person I know who can say they are being responsible with the gifts and talents God has given them, as yourself. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Blessings,

Ana Dawson

Ana,

You said that so very well, I agree with you 100%!

Schooling with Heart Of Dakota is so much more than just making our way through a curriculm. It is wonderful, quality, family time spent shaping the hearts and minds of my children with God as the "centerpiece". I truly believe that Carrie has been given a very special gift and I am so thankful to be able to share in it.

Oh Ana, I'm so happy to hear this! I have been hoping you've had a good start to homeschooling. I so agree with this statement you made...
I am actually a good and fun teacher for my kids! I can't imagine any other way of teaching my family.

I wake up thinking this each day. I know I'd get burnt out on homeschooling and end up dropping the fun stuff without HOD's way of planning it in a purposeful, easy to get done way. I also agree that Carrie has an incredible talent that is being used to God's glory each day. I am thankful for that as well! :) You can take credit for things going well too though, Ana. A wonderful manual is not so wonderful if it is not used properly each day. You make the choice to get up and devote your day to teaching your dc each day, getting the plans done and choosing a cheerful attitude as you do it. That is priceless. Keep up the good work, Ana! :D :D :D

YAY, Ana! We are also LOVING Heart of Dakota! We are getting ready to start Unit 5 in Bigger and I am enjoying seeing BOTH my sons (even the 4 yo!) enjoy Bible time and talking about the character traits. DS had to come up with a metaphor the other day in Poetry and when he did, he said, "I could write a poem!" WOW! This is our 3rd year homeschooling, but our first with HOD and it has been a joy! I only wish that I had used HOD from the beginning and look forward to starting with DS2 next year! :D

Ana I am so happy you are loving it. When we are blessed with teaching our kids in what we are using and seeing them grow with God it makes everything fall into place. I am so happy for you that you have found "it" with HOD. I completely agree. :D There is nothing else I want to use with my kids. Blessings to your family!

I'm right there with you. I am so happy with HOD. This is our first year with it. I've used lots of other things in the past. I am so glad I found it when I did. We have been going through an unusual amount of stress in our family. We've really been through a very difficult trial. I have no doubt at all that the LORD directed me to HOD because He knew what was going to be happening in our lives... I truly believe we wouldn't have gotten anything done without it. But, even in the midst of a trial, we are loving school! My boys are growing spiritually, they love the material, I love the TM. I love what I see coming up for us in future years with HOD.

I want to add that I attended a get together earlier today with some other homeschooling mothers. Some of them were expressing particular challenges and difficulties that I could remember having before HOD. Every issue that was brought up was one that has been solved for me with HOD! I just sat there incredulously, thinking how wonderful it was that I had not one single thing to bring up as a "problem" for us.

Oh, ladies! I am SO glad to hear that the Lord is blessing your homeschooling days. It is our constant prayer that the Lord may be glorified through our guides and that the families who would be blessed by what we have to offer would be brought to HOD! So, you are each an answer to prayer for us! :D We pray that your years will continue to be blessed!

We are working hard to get our rough plans for our new guide underway to pilot this year and are on our last round of book readings for awhile, still looking for a couple elusive titles for which we've been praying for the Lord's guidance. Thanks so much for sharing! You filled my cup today too!

Blessings,
Carrie
