At the end of each week. I have such a complex. Today was a bust and we didn't get to school (I had some medical issues come up and had to see the dr). So, instead of making my kids do school on Saturday, PLEASE help me understand that it is OKAY to not be on Day 1 of the next Unit each Monday morning.
Thank you!

It's OK!!!!
That's why it's called "day 5" and not "Friday"!
Hope you are well and that next week is smoother!

It's OKAY!!!
We do Beyond 4 days a week, plus stuff comes up here and there, so our days are all over the place. I think I would stress out if I had to have Day 1 on Monday, etc. Things come up and change our plans. For example, there was the day a couple of months ago when a church member showed up with a ton of cucumbers for us, and we spent 8 hours making 33 quarts of pickles... We did not do any school that day, though if we had to keep attendance records (which we don't), then I would have counted that as school anyway. Making pickles can be very educational! But I'm rambling now...
Anyway, don't stress over this. It'll be fine. Really.

A-OK!
Seriously, we only actually happened to have Day 1 on Monday a handful of times. After Christmas we really never missed a day until late spring, but we started the week with Day 2 every time.

We did school on 4 Saturdays this spring so that we could finish school in May and not do any in June to finish Bigger, but Grant wanted to do that to be able to be done then.
It doesn't bother the flow of anything in my opinion not to fit a unit to a week.

Are you kidding, if it is not we are so busted.

I just look at the unit numbers as an indication of what is to come not a M-F thing. You are fine, in fact normal. And if you think about it in my mind if it meant M-F then it should say that, hahahaha! Seriously it works great no matter where you land at the end of the week and you will still get the flow of the program.

All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children. Isaiah 54:13

Rebecca-
I can sympathize with you. I struggle with the same thing. So far we are hanging with 5 days/week (after starting last week), but I know once things come our way we will have to vary here and there. I am preparing myself...

We only homeschool 4 days a week around here so our Day 1 will hardly ever be on Mondays, lol.

HI!!!!
This is my 1st year with HOD but my third year homeschooling and I just wanted to say
that it is completely o.k to be off schedule. Focus on feeling better !!!
WE were very off schedule last year but things were very hectic in our family.
The beauty of homeschooling is to tailor your academics to your family needs and personal schedules.
Relax and go at your own speed.

Alas...I couldn't get my mind around it all.

I ended up doing a double day in History, Bible, and the "Rotating" HOD box (geog, art, etc). My goal is to work on my OCD! LOL

YES it's okay. I have had to say that to myself this past week and now hubby is chimming in. He don't care if we just did one day of school in a week just as long as the family is working together and a little does get done each day. I am more scheduled this year since I am offically homeschooling two this year. It takes me two days to get one day of Little Hearts and Preparing done. Today is our sixth day and we just finished Unit 1 in both guides.
