I was glad for the poetry segment because I haven't worked with them on poetry yet and they really enjoyed it. At first we felt unsure about how to make the motions with the Scripture verses but we figured it out and had a lot of fun with that and I think they've already just about memorized their scripture for the week.
Math was our only struggle today. We aren't doing singapore because when I did the placement tests with them they would have been set back so far I thought I would stay with what we had. (Christian Liberty, Modern Curriculum Press) DS forgot division and had to relearn and DD forgot multiplication and had to relearn so we were working on Math at least an hour today just trying to do two pages each. But I think things will go more smoothly next time.
We are taking tomorrow off to go to the library and the pool with my sister. I love only having 4 day weeks!
Oh, and they also loved their new R&S books. My ds especially liked them and kept talking about how he liked the hard cover and he seemed very interested in the new way of working through it where you answer some orally and some written on notepad instead of all textbook like he was used to.
I think next time I will have them read a little more aloud because I kind of wished I could have heard the story of the Woolly Mammoth and Amelia Earhart and Jed Smith.

Anyway, sorry this is so long. I just wanted to say Woo Hoo, Yippee, Yay, we Love HOD!!!

Thanks,
Leah
