A question about going at a slower pace

Post by inHistiming » Wed Jun 10, 2009 1:45 pm

I am considering using CTC and Preparing for my DC next year ..we've been using Bigger this year. Due to financial issues, I am wondering if it would be possible (and not an unwise decision) to have each child do one page of plans per day...of course working at their own levels in math, English, and dictation. I thought maybe this would save us some money forthis year only needing to buy half the books. I already have the Preparing manual. Any thoughts?

inHisTiming,

You could easily do what you're suggesting, however if you end up doing only half of the manual for each kiddo, I wonder if it wouldn't be better to just place both in Preparing (using Extensions) and have a full-speed year? It gets tougher for it to be "enough" to do a manual at half-speed once you get to Preparing Hearts on up, as those guides are already on a 4 day plan. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Thanks, Carrie. I had wondered that myself, plus I had forgotten they're all 4 day plans after Bigger. We'll have to re-think this it seems. Thanks again for your reply.

HI Wendy! I've missed you around here - how's the new babe? I hope your latest little blessing is doing well. I think it would be just fine to do PHFHG next year with your 2 dc. They did well with BIgger Hearts, and if you were thinking to slow down the 2 programs, doing the one would get you the same results in an easier way. Just something to think about - I pray you and your family are having a refreshing summer.

In Christ,
Julie
