Workbox system question

Post by mariaw » Tue Jun 02, 2009 8:01 am

I've been reading everything on the workbox system here and on other forums, and I feel like I have the gist of it. I'm wondering for those of you who have the book, is it worth it to get the book? Or is this something I can just implement on my own? I'm all for supporting authors--it's not that I want to "steal" the idea without buying the book. But looking at the TOC, it seems like there is a lot of general "homeschool" info, and I'm not really looking for help on choosing curriculum, etc.

Just wondering what your take on the book is.

I will be using a workbox system with HOD this fall, and don't really have the funds for another book, so I would be curious to know too. :D

I bought the book, the print version, and really like it! It explains so much behind the reasoning for the system. And gives some additional organization advice etc. However, I know there is a HUGE thread on Five IN a ROW boards about it and they have implemented the system in a variety of ways. Some with, and some without the book.

But, personally, I love the book... Ihave read it through a couple of times. I also bought the starter kit which was cheap and sure beats creating all of those "tags". Now, I haven't used the system yet , as I haven't started to homeschool yet. but I have started to use her morning and afternoon routines and it is working great for us!
