Some more general questions. Each 'book' covers an age range. My understanding is that this curriculm is designed for each 'book' to be a 1 yr curriculm. Is this correct? I have a dd who is entering 4th grade- if she started Bigger Hearts now, on the extension, then next year did Preparing Hearts with the extension, and finally did Hearts for Him with the extension-- this would take her to 6th grade- This is as far as she can go with this curriculm. The question really is my younger dd- who I hope to 'join' my older dd in history, science etc... she would do Bigger, Preparing, and Hearts in her 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade years-- her younger siblings, would then be 7 turning 8 (same as she is now)- and would likely be ready to start Bigger-- could she go back and do the course work again with the extensions?? or would she not get enough out of it? (is it designed to be rotational like that where you can repeat levels every few years adding new readers and of course their own math??)
My other 3 are still very small. I was thinking of ordering the Little Hands for my girls to "teach" them while I am busy with the new baby. (when we had the twins we got them ballet dvd's to do, or educational software, we also got them disposable camer'as and let them be in charge taking pics...) Anyway, Do you think a 9 yr old and a 7 yr old could enjoy 'teaching' Little Hands to their younger siblings? (they like playing school- they do help them do worksheet and stuff...) Is it to advanced for a 2 almost 3 yr old? Would it be easy to do Little Hands for 2 yrs? or will they get bored with it?
Should I wait and start them next year- (he will be 3 going on 4, and they will be 5 almost 6) Then start them on Little Hearts when the little one is 4 going to be 5 and the twins will be 6 going on 7.....

I can't answer all you questions, but wanted to make sure you know that HOD doesn't end with the guides that you see now. There will be 3 more coming out following Hearts for Him: CtC to complete the 4-yr history cycle. Carrie's goal is to complete a new one each year.
My 7yo dd has LOVED teaching LHTH to her little brothers. It might be a little over the head of a 2yo but SO much fun anyway. My 2yo has picked up quite a bit about his letters from watching older brother doing LHTH and now I do it with him occasionally. He's also learned to count to 12, say his ABC's and the sounds of some, and is able to identify all upper and lower case letters. So LHTH is very simple yet effective!

We wouldn't recommend repeating a guide with the same kiddos, as the guides build well upon one another.
Depending on how mature your 9 year old is, she may be able to use LHTH with your little ones. You would know best if that would work for your family situation. My older sister did successfully have her older daughter teach LHTH to her younger kiddos, however her older daughter was 12 turning 13 at the time.
To help us get a better feel for where you kiddos are at right now, I'd love to have you check out the placement chart in order to help us advise you better. Here's a link to the placement chart:
