My daughter knows all her phonics and is in the 4th grade. She has some vision problems with muscles working together, so she doesn't read with ease. I'm having problems having her improve on reading many syllable words while she is reading books. She doesn't seem to see the small syllables to be able to break it down. Any tips on helping children improve on their reading skills when it comes to harder words. She's reading at 3.5 reading level. We are doing DITHOR now, level 2/3.
Thanks for any help!

reading 4 syllable words
Re: reading 4 syllable words
Susan,
You may wish to check out the Pyramid book of Phonics pathways. It is basically an eye tracking exercise as kiddos read through the words in a pyramid. It only takes 5-10 min. daily. It also helps work on their phonics. You wouldn't need the whole Phonics Pathways program, most likely just the Pyramid book.
