I used RS A and LOVED it! It really gave my dd a great foundation in math. We enjoyed the games. I think it really helped her see how math works. But she is really math minded anyway. That being said, due to the price we have switched over to Singapore 1A and we are really flying through it. We started it 2 weeks ago and are nearly 1/3 through it. I feel like most of it is review concept-wise, but dd is really, really enjoying Singapore. Way more than RS even. Part of it is that the Singapore lessons are so short. (We are using the Beyond guide for the lessons/activities) There isn't really much, if any, review in Singapore (so far) like there was EVERY DAY in RS, but that seems to be okay right now because dd masters math so quickly. Honestly, RS was getting a bit tedious for us because of DD's awesome understanding of math. We personally enjoy Singapore much much more, and we enjoyed RS a ton. I am going to get the card games book to continue that way of reinforcement, and I still use the "math way" of counting with her. We also still use the abacus. I'm glad that we did RS. I probably will use it with my younger kiddos when they are 4 or 5 instead of the Earlybird books, but then we will go on into Singapore like I did with my oldest.
