RTR history project unit 4

Post by Maadrose » Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:58 pm

Glue and bread dough????? Seriously!?!?!? It didn't work for us...it was too sticky with 2 pieces of bread so we added first one more slice and still too sticky. Added second piece, still too sticky. Even tried mushing it in hands...all of it just stuck to my hands, never formed a dough. I am stumped on this one! So we are just going to use buttons or colored paper chips I guess! Lol! Never a dull moment!

HA! After I hit send I thought to google this recipe. I found a recipe and a video, so problem solved! We just finish the dough and little game pieces. So easy and fun (but SUPER messy)! Also add the paint before you mix anything up...much easie and the color is brilliant!

One thing you could try that would involve less mess and be a bit quicker, would be to purchase a tub of crayola air dry clay. It's about five dollars at stores like walmart and work really nicely for these types of projects. We've had trouble in the past getting our dough just right, and it frustrated my son to no end. I just picked up this air dry clay and it made life much easier! :D

Just a thought! I'm glad you got it to work out in the end! :D

P.S. I know part of the learning and skill progression is in the following of the dough making instructions, but for this one part of our guide, we cheated, for the sake of my son's sanity!~ (and mine, too!)
