How to make a schedule

Post by Gwenny » Tue Jul 03, 2012 9:52 pm

So...I've been putting off making a schedule for the school stuff. I've read over some of your schedules and get overwhelmed. I keep thinking I can just do it and not take the time and thought, but I am floundering. :). Help.

I have a high schooler doing a beefed up RTR, she will finish it in October and then directly into RevtoRev.
Just started Preparing with my 16 yo daughter (16 tomorrow) who is from Liberia and has major learning issues, I have to do most of it with her.
10 yo daughter doing Bigger, and she can be pretty independent, she's doing the extensions- in unit 15.
8 yo son a couple of units from finishing LHFHG and then directly starting Beyond. (can't wait for that guide!)
5 yo son doing LHTH.
7 month old daughter who is a major distraction for everyone- we only want to play with her. :)

I have 4 older children, 3 out of the house and a 20 yo daughter still at home. Just wait ladies, if you arent there yet with your family, they still take a ton of time. :). (I love it though)

So...where to begin???!!!

Use post it notes, small ones, to put all things that you need to do and a different color for each person. Then stick them to a wall or poster board. Keep rearranging until you get it working.

The book managers of their home is great for teaching you how to set up a schedule. Don't forget to Pray! Pray about each activity. If its too much on paper than it's too much for life. Cut out things if needed.

It's been many years, but I've used the managers of their homes many times! I cut out all those little squares...:). I guess I need to do it again! :). Thanks for the reminder. I'm trying to do my planning in the 15 minutes that I have, doesn't work. I know I'll save time in the long run, hoping it could be easier and someone will just tell me what to do. :)
Blessings!
