HOD Spelling
We use Rod & Staff for Spelling currently. I'm wondering how spelling works using HOD. I have seen I can use my own Math, and English program. I also noticed there is vocabulary, but what about spelling? Do we get spelling lists with each week? If so, is there a sample of this? I'm also wondering if there are samples of the scheduled copywork.
Re: HOD Spelling
Spelling in Beyond and Bigger are listed in the apendix at the back. After these guides spelling is done as dictation practice. There is also a dictation option in Bigger. These passages are taken from an older book called Dictation Day by Day.
I hope this helps!

Why HOD does spelling lists before dictation, by Carrie:

I have used multiple spelling programs through the past 16 years of teaching - textbooks, R & S Spelling, Spelling Power - HOD's lists followed by dictation has provided the best retention and the most carryover into dc's writing compared to any other program I have used. I have 2 dc that have followed HOD's progression - one who began as a poor speller, and one who began as an excellent speller. Both dc's spelling continues to improve substantially, and my child who spelled poorly now receives far above average scores in this area in his standardized testing. I'm glad you are considering it - I hope the links help!
