I can do that.

I am on a little different schedule than most of you all. We will be starting probably mid to late September and it seems it is going to take about that time to get it all done. Could be because I made a sewing room and I moved everyone of my kids to different rooms in the process along with the school room, hahaha! Never one thing at a time like normal people do for some reason with me. My poor dh.

I thought I was the only one who did this.
My dh is just happy I leave the living room alone. But that's only because everything in there is way too heavy.

Here's what I did with my guide this year. First I put contact paper on the cover. Then I added labeled 3-M sticky tabs for that day's plans, as well as the page of dictation we are on, the math schedule, and the current poem. Lastly I got out my cookbook holder to put the guide in. This is a real help esp when DS is doing something like a craft or painting.
Sorry it's so big! I have to get DH to show me how to downsize the photos.

That is totally awesome. I never thought about doing ANY of this! Wow, I am so UNcreative! I just stick bookmarks in there at the current page, the Emergent Reader section that I am on, and the poem section. I did make copies of the poems and put them in a folder to get out when the need to do their copywork.
You all inspire me! Getting it in a spiral binder would be a good idea! Or maybe when my son does his independent work next year or so, I will have a copy made for him to use on his own while I keep my own copy. Sounds good!

I had the binding cut off and hole punched. I bought a nice green binder for Bigger, with clear pocket, front and back, that I put the covers in. I love it! My Beyond covers got so creased up. I'll definitely be doing it for Preparing. I should get some tabs for spelling and poetry, I love that idea.

Just wanted to share something that really worked well for last year and again for this year. For planning my schoolyear, I printed out
this one page calendar. You can choose which year and which month you'd like it to begin with. Then I sat down and wrote the numbers for the HoD units in the blanks next to each week. For weeks off, I just wrote "off" in the blank next to that week. It took just a few minutes and has really helped me decide when would be a good time to start, finish, take off time, etc. I can see at a glance exactly where we are in the schoolyear. I do it all in pencil so revisions can be made as we go along.

Then I store it in our portfolio of our year's work. HTH!
