I agree with Jessi this is not a bad addiction. Maybe we should call it something like a blessed obsession. I love to come over and see if there is anything I can learn about or help someone with maybe on the HODie board. Plus I plan on being here for at least another 8-9 years or more if HOD is moved by God to bless us with more. I know there are others that plan on suing HOD all the way too. Just think how long we will all know each other! I love how up lifting people are here as well and I just need that little does. Hsing can be tough even with the absolute best curriculum, you still have to teach kids that can be challenging at times. It's great to have a place to come and get solutions based exactly on what you are using knowing that the other person has similar goals for their children. :D

 My first thought when I saw Water2wine's post with "suing" in it, I did a double take..."plan on suing all the way" LOL I do that kind of stuff all the time. So it is nice to see I am not the only one with the slip of the finger. Anyway, I had a good giggle out of that.

And I agree with Blessed Obsession. It's kind of catchy. Should we have tshirts made? The front will say H.O.D. and the back will say "My Blessed Obsession!"

So creative, w2w!! :D My family can attest that I'm obsessed, too! (Actually this week I haven't had much time on the computer, but when I get a free moment I love to check in!) You gals are great!! And I'm so glad for the life-long, like-minded, godly friends that this board has allowed me to make. I'm so thankful for HOD...and all of you!!

I received my login eight days ago and I cannot go to bed at night without looking at all the new posts for the day. :o Has anyone else experienced this?

 Am I experiencing some sort of HODie addiction? If so, what did you do about it? Is there a support group or should I let this "fever" run its course? How long does the "fever" last? Are there any other symptoms I should be looking out for ??? I hate to go through this alone so I thought I would ask.

It is not all bad, don't get me wrong ! Most of the time it is quite "euphoric" - like an "HODie High": I get on the message board, get my fix, and go to bed with sweet dreams. But it is interfering with my facebook "relationships", web-surfing, etc.

Should I be worried?
Dear Ones,

I have not been back to this specific post/thread since a couple days after I posted it. You guys are cracking me up ! I am about to cry you are so funny, heartfelt, sincere, genuine. Praise the Lord, what a community of support you are. There were so many posts I wanted to "quote".

Anyway, my mind is swarming with ideas. A cruise or HODie conference sounds great, BUT may not be realistic in this economy and with all of our other obligations and time-tables.

So....let's brainstorm. We need a way to IDENTIFY EACH OTHER at the conference we attend near our homes every year. :!:

How can we identify each other ?!! :?:

 I have been to six conferences in Texas in three years in three different cities (another addiction???) and I saw one exhibitor asking people who used their products to wear this really cool self-adhesive sticker about the size of a typical name tag (maybe a little bigger). That is cheaper than a t-shirt or hat and would not interfere with any "fashion plans" people might be particular about at a conference. On the subject of shirts. Wouldn't it be great if HOD had a t-shirt or polo shirt we could wear to park day with our hs group or to the monthly meetings (can you tell I was a marketing graduate ?!). Of course we would need to be willing to actually buy a shirt ! If HOD could design a really good one (two or three price-points) we were proud to wear then we would want to show it off.

 Okay, another HS conference idea: When your conference is about two or three months away and you want to know who else may consider going, post a message on the message board and in the subject heading put something like: "The Woodlands-Houston Conference-Aug 17th-Anyone Going?" The subject heading is very important. Then do this again as it gets closer. You could plan to meet each other at a certain time at the onsight lunch room or meet in the lobby for coffee OR even better, go to hear one of the featured speakers together !!!

Does anyone else have an idea about how we could identify each other AT a conference?

Seeing that I am not the only HODie with a "blessed obsession" has been very therapeutic: Hello, my name is Lori and I'm an HODie-holic...

God Bless you all and best wishes as you home educate this week.
