I made some notebooking pages too. I made a master copy of a lab sheet. It was simple. I included each of the steps of the scientific method with lines for writing. I left most of the middle blank so the procedure could be drawn. I enjoyed making history notebooking pages too. Usually, I just printed the person's name on the top of the sheet and found a photo of the person online and copied that. I simply cut the image out, taped it on the paper, and made a photocopy so that I had a neat finished product. I kept the "master" so that I can use them with my dd. My ds enjoyed using the notebooking pages and filling them with facts and pictures. They were easy to do but certainly not necessary.

Daph wrote:... Why do you use a composition book for Rod & Staff? Do you use the workbook with Rod & Staff? Just want to make sure I buy the right thing at the conference.

We use a wide-ruled composition notebook with Riley in Bigger Hearts, and a college-ruled composition notebook with Wyatt in RTR for R & S English.

They write about 1/3 of their R & S English assignment in these, and the rest we do orally or on markerboard. The R & S Workbook is not scheduled in HOD, just the teacher's manual and pupil hardback you can see here:
http://www.heartofdakota.com/BHFHG-english.php
We did not find it necessary to have the teacher's manual for 2, but for R & S English 3 on up we use the teacher's manual (as at that point it has important oral review questions at the start of every lesson that are only part of the TG). We have found HOD's coverage of English via R & S English to be very solid and also very easy to implement. HTH!

Yay! Thank you all so much for all the suggestions! I'm so close to being ready to start! And then I have to wait three months!
