One huge thing for us is seeing them apply scripture and character to real life. There have been times when my kids have observed someone doing something or saying something to us that was off and having them catch it. One that really sticks in my head is a child told mine that their parent did not think we were Christian enough for their family. Now pretty hard thing to hear and sort of unbelievable that it would be actually spoken back to us. My child pulled out instantly a Bible verse from memory and I am sorry I do not remember now which verse it was but the message my child conveyed with the verse was that all have fallen short of the grace of God and we are saved through Christ. She then determined we should pray for the parent to know the true love of Christ in their life. She made the comment that none of us are good enough for God on our own and that is why we need Christ. I loved that through HOD my child was able to apply a verse in a hard situation and instead of feeling judged they determined the person that said it needed prayer and were very sincere in that. When I asked my child where did they get that lesson they did tell me HOD. Can't beat Bible and character showing up in their actual life from translation of what they learned.
