Hi Brandie! I know Carrie will get back to you too, but I just wanted to say that you can start DITHOR anytime. That may be a great way to begin a portion at a time. I think your dd would love it! I used DITHOR for many years tutoring before homeschooling my own dc, and even children struggling with reading seemed to learn to love it with DITHOR! Same goes for R & S - you can certainly start that any time! We really like doing it all orally except for one 10 questions or less written part, a part of my ds's choosing. He loves to choose, and I love that he's really getting it without having to write a bunch! R & S English is really working for us. I'll be doing Preparing next year too. After reading the rest of your posts, I do think that Preparing would be a good fit too. Once you get your dc placed, HOD is totally smooth sailing! Looking forward to doing Preparing with you next year!

Brandie,

It looks like my3sons did a great job of answering your question! I agree that starting DITHR and Rod and Staff now would be a great way to get going. :D

Did you get a chance to look at the Language Arts post about "Preparing..." to make sure the writing level in it will be alright for your daughter? Here is the link to thread on it: http://www.heartofdakota.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=719

Blessings,
Carrie

I think she will be able to do the writing required. I think doing R&S English 2 will help her too. I can always choose what I have her do if it gets to be two much. But I think she will be fine. If I do English 2 now, does Preparing have lessons for English 3? Or is it just 4?

Brandie,

Yes, Preparing has English 3 and 4 scheduled, so you can follow whichever one suits your daughter best! :D

It sounds like you are set! 8)

Blessings,
Carrie
