WOW! Can you please come and help me redo my school room! Forget that come do my entire house. :D Your organization is inspiring! This is awesome. OK I have to know where did you get the bins with labels and the table with the book storage on the side?

Ya'll are so funny! :D My family and friends all tease me for being so organized! But, then, they come running when they need help getting organized themselves!

water2wine: The project desk came from Pier One. I do love it. It's the perfect size for just about anything that we're working on. The bins all came from Walmart. The ones in the top were in the college dorm section from last fall. The ones in the bottom are just the plastic tubs found on the aisle with the dish drying racks over in the home dept. I just got whatever would fit the space, but all the same color so it looked uniform. Normally I wouldn't have picked black, but my walls are such a wild color I had to do something different with those. Then, I just bought a bag of name tag/labels from the school supply store and then used my label maker and stuck the labels that I made onto the name tags. It just looked neater than my handwriting.

Thanks a bunch!
Christy :D

thanks for the visuals. i am jealous of the beautifully painted room . we are working on our rooms one by room . so far only 3 rooms and a bathroom have gotten done over 7 yrs.
I bought that same paper. we have the one with the lines and the picture space. We were able to purchase it through rainbow resource or discount school supply. I can't remember which one.
We also finished week 1 of Beyond (and LHFHG). And i too, have dishes piled in sink.
we use the dining room as our school area. The eat in kitchen is where we actually eat.
Here are a few picts of our school area. Complete with little tyke slide. Perfect for hot Florida weather in summer and cold winter weather.

Hello Christy,

First, I wanted to thank you for sharing you beautiful school room with us. :!: This looks like the school room most of us would want to have "dreaming away". Than after we start this organized we would be very sad when we made a total mess of it by the middle of the year. And you would have to come back and help us get back on track!
It is very encouraging and here in Florida we take a month off in the summer, so I might finally turn my school room into what it needs to be, I will keep you post handy :)

Second I used to post really big pictures as well. Julie gave me a great tip to go to photobucket (I believe you already used that),
Just in case : http://photobucket.com/?ref=nue
After downloading your pictures and putting them in albums
1. click on the image/images you want to share.
2. click on the "generate HTML and IMG code" button on the bottom right
3. copy and paste from the section that has this heading : "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended"
4. copy and paste pictures in your message
5. you have nice little pictures that someone can click on to see the larger one on photobucket :D

Third there is a special section on the main board for "weekly check ins". If you read the sticky on top you will find the post that helps you to start out the post for the week. This is a great place to add your weeks foto's and activities. We love to read them and see the kiddo's work. :D :D

Hope to see you there and it would be great if you could hop over in October to help me organize my school room :D Just name you fee right :P

Oh, thanks, ladies! :D

Jenn, thanks so much for sharing your school area with us! I love your tall bookshelves! We only have that one cabinet that takes up all of our school supplies, so we have to stash books all over the rest of the house too! It looks great!

Thanks for the tips, moedertje! I am going to try to do the week in review some this year. I love reading those each week! They have really helped me out a lot of times just being able to see how others have done things!

Have a good day!

Christy :-)

I love the room you have set up!! I could use someone like you to help me since I am not good at decorating.

MamaPajama wrote:Your room is gorgeous (and the color is now serving as my inspiration for our school room as I knew I wanted a green, but wasn't sure what shade)! Great pics! I have one of those PC caddies too, but mine holds my large utensils. I may have to get another one for our supplies.
I wanted to let you and others know that Target has some like the Pampered Chef ones in their Dollar spot. Though I think they cost $2.50, still a much cheaper option to Pampered Chef for those of us on a limited budget.

Christy,

I really like what you've done with your school area! Thank you for sharing it with us, as well as the info on where you bought all of your organizational supplies! You've given me some great ideas and inspiration! :D
