There is plenty of notebooking in Bigger, both with History, Geography (once a week or so), and Science (a couple of times a week, it seems like). There is a handmade timeline as well, which the children label and draw on. All the drawing for the is great, it helps the kids with interest and retention. My one son doesn't like to draw, so it's a stretch for him and is good for him, while my daughter loves it and always wants to do more.
The picture book Journeys in Time isn't used every day or even every week, just so you know. So plan on supplementing with more picture books if this is important to you. It is so easy to supplement this program with any books you want!
I think you will really love Bigger!
