Anyone else annoyed at the use of this type of language?

This is where new posts begin. All questions or discussions about any of Heart of Dakota's curriculums start here. If you wish to share a one-time post about your family's experience with our curriculum, you may post under the specific curriculum title (found beneath this "Main Board" heading).

I realize book language is a concern, and while Carrie may not mind a discussion about language in books and what is okay, I personally feel it's getting kind of close to becoming 'personal' between people posting on the thread. Just wanted to stick in a reminder of why Carrie created this board and suggest that maybe we should let this topic drop now. :?
When I started this thread I didn't realize that people would get upset/defensive about this. (Call me naive, I guess!) When I first learned about the origins of these words, I thought, "Why didn't anyone tell me before? I wouldn't have been saying them!!!" But, seeing the direction that this thread has taken, I opted to delete all of my posts. If anyone wishes to discuss this further, please feel free to PM me.
