Hi Sonia! Welcome! So happy for you that you found HOD right off the bat. You are going to love it!. I have six kids, five girls and one boy. We had two and adopted four almost at once. My oldest will be 11 soon and we have only been married for ten years but by the miracle of adoption you can do anything. It has been a very fun and exciting ride. :D I have homeschooled for three years and I have made plenty of mistakes but I can tell you one thing I wish is that we had started with HOD. So you already got my best advice there. I will tell you the one thing that I think is most important to having a successful homeschooling journey. And that is to school by God's influence and not man's. You will get wise advice from mom's that have more experience and that is invaluable but keeping up with the status quo will make you lose your focus on hearing God's voice in your homeschool. Other than that have fun and make wonderful memories with your children because each year goes by faster and faster. :D Oh one other thing pray for God to help you see clearly what they need. My favorite homeschool prayer is "Lord help me to love and see them as you love and see them. Help me to teach them what you want for them to learn. And if I can't do it please do it for me, through me." I have learned amazing things about my kids through that prayer.

Welcome to the boards. You are going to love homeschooling and absolutely love HOD. :D I honestly believe homeschooling is a call from God and in that I believe you can give your kids something that could never be found any other way. Enjoy it!

That is the best advice! One of the hardest things to do as a mom is to raise your kids up to God and remember that your plans for them may not be God's plans. Your children are very lucky to have a mom who puts God's wishes before hers!
