Thanks to all, even the OP, this has been helpful to me as I am considering starting Preparing in November. mom23 - I would really love to get my kids on a schedule where they are 5 day/4 day but finishing a unit at the same time! Preparing will be our first 4 day/week guide (obviously). I thought I would just have everyone do school on a day and therefore the Preparing child would move through her guide faster than her sisters, but maybe I will give her a day off or a lighter day if she actually gets her work done in 4 days. That would make for some fun days! I can finish Beyond and LHTH before 10 AM. I forsee field trips!

Forgive me if it's been said, but that was a lot of reading to wade through.

In the past, I've taken one box from each day and just moved them to Fridays. It knocks a box off from every day and it's easier to be consistent. That way you can choose how much independence Friday can be instead of just saving what you don't complete till Friday.

That way I always have a mix on my Friday's instead of just a load of uncompleted work. If you have any box that rotates in it's subject, such as that Research box, always do that particular box location on Friday.
