Here is a peek into our schoolroom this week! We work hard Monday-Thursday with only a couple of light assignments in math and grammar on Fridays, so here is our week in review up a bit early. I'm hoping to add our Friday art-projects later tonight!

Here are our art projects for the week

Re: Week-in-Review: April 1-5
We have had so much illness in the past 3 weeks and also a couple outside (the house) engagements that we haven't gotten very far.
LHTH: Unit 8, part of Unit 9
My dd loved all the learning about Moses. On the day she had to do a page about the parting of the Red Sea, it was actually a rare nice day, so I allowed her to
paint the picture, and do it outdoors. She has surprised me by writing some letters lately, little "a" being her favorite. She will tell me the sounds as well.
She loves listening to the Singing Bible, but wants to listen to a whole CD at a time.
LHFHG: Unit 14
Despite being sick, he was able to accomplish more than I would have thought. He copied/traced his entire verse for this unit, drew pictures, read, did extra math.
He listened and 'narrated' better for storytime than usual. All in all a good week going half-speed.
Bigger Hearts: Unit 25 (day 4)
He has been the sickest. Over the past 2 weeks we have done the days 1-4. He enjoyed hearing the history stories of the traveling west. Abraham Lincoln is a favorite for him so he liked those stories. He narrated very well. We didn't get any science done except the readings. The huge accomplishment was finishing another book in the ER set, and starting on a new one. I started rewarding him with 1 page of a Hardy Boys book for every one page he reads of his ER books. I am eager to get those finished.
We also worked on signing his name in cursive - he struggles with that, but I have seen an improvement.

I'm so sorry! We have been battling it around here too, but finally seem to be recuperated. Sickness is no fun, but I'm so grateful the kids don't "get behind" like they do in traditional school when they're sick!TrueGRIT wrote:We have had so much illness in the past 3 weeks and also a couple outside (the house) engagements that we haven't gotten very far.

We are enjoying learning about the Wright Brothers. I'm sad our journey through Bigger is about to end. Our Unit 28 in Bigger:
