New to HOD :)

Post by momto2grls » Mon May 19, 2008 8:27 pm

I will be doing Bigger w/ dd for grade 2. We just received our shipment on Sat. and I have to say, after reviewing the lessons, I feel a huge weight lifted from my shoulders already. I just love how everything is laid out for each day of the week. I feel so much more organized already.
Since reviewing the lessons in Bigger I also went ahead and ordered DITHOR. I had planned on using my own program for reading, but this seems to fit so well - can't wait to recieve it.
We will be wrapping up 1st grade this week, then dd will have 3 weeks off and we will begin our new school year on June 16th - can't wait to get started - I think dd is going to love this! :)

Welcome to HOD! :D I'm going to be starting Bigger and DITHOR with my oldest this year, too. I'm so excited about it, too! Have you looked at the weekly check-in posts? I absolutely love to read about what everyone is doing and learning...especially the ones about Bigger.

Welcome! I know exactly how you feel! We LOVE HOD! I just wish it had been in existence when I started homeschooling 11 years ago. (wishful smile) But it's never too late! Though I have a sophmore who will never get to use it. I have three others who will!

I can't wait to hear all about your first week, June 16th!

Welcome to the board! We're just finishing BHFHG, and you are going to have such a great year with it! I know what you mean about a "weight" being lifted when you see the HOD guide. That's the way I feel too. I posted quite a few weekly check-ins on Bigger..., so if you want a sneak peek into the year and have a moment, that may be fun to see. Be sure and let us celebrate your beginning Bigger... with you by posting about it here!

momto2grls,

I'm so glad that "Bigger..." has lifted a weight off of your shoulders! This is what we intend it to do - so you can enjoy your school day!

We pray you will have a blessed school year. Thanks for sharing. :D

Blessings,

Thank you for all of the warm welcomes! :)
It is so refreshing to have found HOD after all of the sifting through of curriculum we have done over the past 2 yrs.
The boards here at HOD have such a family feel to them, I'm sure I will be vistiting and posting more often once we get started with Bigger! :)
